Run Full Plagiarism ScanThis tool compares two pieces of content — pasted text and/or a live page URL on each side — and measures how much of one shows up in the other. Under the hood it breaks each source into overlapping 6-word "shingles" (a standard, fast fingerprinting technique used by near-duplicate detectors) and checks which fingerprints the two sources share. Shared fingerprints that sit next to each other are merged back into full, readable passages so you can see exactly what matched, not just a percentage.
What this Lite version is for: checking one specific text or page against another one you already have in mind — an original draft against a suspected copy, two versions of an article, a student submission against its source, a rewritten page against the page it may have been spun from. What it doesn't do is search the open web for unknown matches somewhere else entirely — that requires crawling or querying a search index (the kind of thing paid services like Copyscape are built around). If you don't yet know what your content might be duplicated from, pair this tool with a search-engine spot-check first, then bring the two URLs or texts back here for a precise, passage-level comparison.
