Run Free Website AuditYour IP address is the public identifier your internet provider assigns to your connection, and it is the address every website and online service sees when you connect. This tool reads that address from your request the moment the page loads, tells you whether it is IPv4 or IPv6, and then looks up what the internet itself publishes about it: the network owner (normally your ISP or employer), its ASN and address range, the country where the block is registered, and the reverse DNS hostname, if one is set.
Everything is queried live over DNS rather than pulled from a cached marketing database, and the tool is deliberately honest about its limits: it reports country-level registration data, not a street address or a city. City-level “IP geolocation” is an estimate that is frequently wrong, so we don't present it as fact. You can also paste any other IPv4 or IPv6 address to see who operates it, which is handy for reading server logs, checking where an email or login attempt came from, or confirming that a VPN is working.
Most home and mobile providers assign addresses dynamically, so yours can change when your router restarts, your lease expires or you move between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
The country shown is where your provider registered the address block. Large providers route traffic through regional hubs, so the registered location is not necessarily where you are sitting.
An IP address reveals your provider and a rough region. Only your provider can link it to a subscriber account, and they release that information only through legal process.
